National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week is February 6-February 10. Please join the PALCS school counselors as we celebrate National School Counseling Week wit the following activities.

Monday, February 6
  • Virtual lunch bunch with Ms. Dameron and Ms. Bowe for students in grades 6-8 at noon
Tuesday, February 7
  • Virtual lunch bunch with Ms. Lutz and Ms. Bowe for students in grades K-2 at noon
  • Lunch at CPFA with Ms. Crosswell and Mr. Gegwich
  • "Time Management for the Online Learner" presentation by an Argosy University representative at 3 p.m.
Wednesday, February 8
  • Virtual lunch bunch with Ms. Lutz and Ms. Bowe for students in grades 3-5 at noon
  • Lunch at CPFA with Ms. Dameron
Thursday, February 9
  • Virtual lunch with Ms. Zollo for students in grade 10 and Mr. Gegwich for students in grade 12 at 11:30 a.m.
  • Virtual lunch with Ms. Crosswell for students in grade 9 and with Ms. Vazquez for students in grade 11 at noon
Friday, February 10
  • College Wear Day - Faculty, staff, students, home facilitators...send us a picture of you wearing your favorite college or university apparel! Send pictures to dkersten@staff.palcsmail.org so we can post them on our guidance website

Doodle for Moodle - Winter Wonderland Edition!
Congratulations go to Kristofer Theorin (1st place), Hannah Nguyen (2nd place), and Erica Weidner (3rd place) for their winning banner submissions! Their banners will be on the Moodle front page February 6-24.

Cyber Bullying Survey
One of our PALCS students is collecting information about cyber bullying for a school project through a three-part survey. If you are between the ages of 14 and 19 and would like the respond, the links are Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. All responses will remain anonymous. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Scholastic Book Order
The Scholastic January Book Orders were submitted and once they are received at PALCS they will be sorted and sent to your homes. Thank you for your orders!

Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is very pleased to have so many supportive families. This is just one more way to increase our students interest in reading and allow their library to grow.

The February Scholastic Book Orders will be due February 29th, Leap Day! Please place your order by noon to ensure it is processed.

Recycling Fundraiser

Save on Taxes. Help our school. Protect the Environment. Donate your used electronics & jewelry! PALCS Panama 2012 Global ambassadors are conducting a recycling fundraiser. There’s nothing to buy. We are simply asking you to protect the environment by donating your used consumer electronics and unwanted, broken or mismatched jewelry. Your used item(s) may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations. One hundred percent of the proceeds will help fund PALCS Panama 2012 trip.
